What is a Facebook Group?
A Facebook Group is a community managed by either one or several admins on Facebook. These groups are a great way to build connection and create a lot of engagement if you have the right strategy.
What you need to know is that no Facebook Group will automatically be popular overnight. It takes a lot of time and effort by both the admins and the members to make it as healthy as possible.
A Facebook Group can be created as a Public Group or a Secret Group. Typically, a Public Facebook Group allows anyone to become a member and the content in the group is always visible for anyone in the public. This means that anyone can view the content with or without being a member. Wherelse, a Secret Facebook Group works the total opposite. You have to be inside the community before you can actually participate in the group. You would also need to apply to become a member of the group where the admins would either approve or reject you. At the same time, it is also important to understand that admins of private Facebook Group could also enable or disable public viewing of the content in the group. There are just too many spammers nowadays and therefore, most Facebook admins create private Facebook groups to ensure that they have more control and able to screen through the members who are really legit.
Joining a public group on Facebook is always the easy part. But how to join a secret group on Facebook? Here are the steps you need to follow.

1. Finding the Facebook group of your choice
Use the Facebook search bar (top of the screen) to find the Facebook group of your choice. Typically, the list is huge and you need to click on the search navigation to groups.
2. Enable filtering
If you are using Facebook on a desktop, you will see the filtering option on the left side of the screen. In this case, you can choose between public or closed Facebook groups. Select closed groups to choose for private Facebook groups to join.
3. Request to join
The last step is very simple. Click on the request to join and some groups require you to put in some details such as information about yourself and what’s your plan of using the group.
Personally, I would advise inputting some critical information to make yourself useful to the community.
