Do you know that you can easily edit or change an Instagram post with just a few clicks?
Of course, there are several limitations that are imposed on Instagram. For example, you are unable to change the photo after publishing it. The only way to do so is to delete the image completely. And that makes all the sense if you ask me. You wouldn’t want an image to change after it garners over 1,000 likes (consider spammer). Imagine changing the image entirely after getting a lot of engagement on the older image.
How do you edit an Instagram post?
The first step is to use locate your Instagram app and running it. It is important to understand that there is no way to update a post on Instagram via your desktop. At least, that’s what it is right now and who knows if Instagram is going to change that in the coming future.
You should have Instagram app on your device by now but if you have not, click here to download Instagram on your smart devices now.
Head over to your profile and click on the Profile button.
Click on the image of your choice and head over to the setting buttons that looks like three round buttons (some call this options or setting button).
Clicking on it will give you several options such as:
- Turn Off Commenting
- Copy Share URL
Now, what you need to do is to click on the Edit button. Once this is done, you will automatically able to update the post (content and hashtag).
You can also edit the tags you had done previously by pressing the black button on the bottom left of the image.
When should you be editing your Instagram photos?
- When you post an Instagram photo and made a mistake in the content (typos — they happen all the time).
- The content is not reflecting what you have in mind. This is a great time to edit your Instagram post.
- Adding more content to the post
- Adding hashtags and tagging your friends in the post
Now that you know how to edit an Instagram post, what other questions you have in mind about Instagram?
As usual, leave a comment below and tell me all about it! I’ll be happy to share more how-to’s in the coming weeks for your reading.
