Yesterday ( June 11, 2013) Pinterest launched a localized French edition. Because there is a community of French Pinners, this local Pinterest French Edition came natural as they say from a post on the Pinterest Blog:

“French has been available as a language setting on Pinterest since last year, but language is just one important piece of culture. That’s why we’re launching a new localized version of Pinterest, created especially for people in France.

French pinners will see more local content in Search and category feeds, as well as links to more French domains and pins with descriptions in French.”

This is the first non-English edition of the Pinterest site and its main aim is to provide a  localized community experience for France’s users, have content from French domains,  pins with French language descriptions in search and category pages.
