Facebook officially introduced a few hours ago: Video on Instagram. Today (June 20) at the Facebook Headquarters in Menlo Park, Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom presented the new product to the members of the media, the much talked about video functionality: Video on Instagram.

Comparing to Twitter’s 6 second looping videos called: Vine, with Instagram you can make videos up to 15 seconds.

Instagram added thirteen filters specifically for video mode as they said on their blog:

“You’ll also find that we’ve added thirteen filters built specifically for video so you can keep sharing beautiful content on Instagram. When you post a video, you’ll also be able to select your favorite scene from what you’ve recorded as your cover image so your videos are beautiful even when they’re not playing.”

Instagram Video has 3 main principles: simplicity, beauty and community. If at the end of February, Instagram passed 100 Million Active Users, today Instagram’s  co-founder Kevin Systrom revealed that Instagram now has 130 million monthly active users.

Video on Instagram can be on your smartphone starting today: Instagram for iOS version 4.0 is available for download in Apple’s App Store and Instagram for Android version 4.0 is available on Google Play.
