After months of testing, Facebook finally announced yesterday the “Reply” option with which you can directly reply to a comment left on a page or profile.

Back in November 2012, Facebook admitted that they started testing a new comments format and will be placing the post with the most engagements higher.

With this new “Reply” option you will be able to address each individual comment and you don’t have to leave a response to a friend’s comment way after new ones have been added.

The most active and popular comments will be placed to the top of your posts – this will be very helpful for the pages with hundreds and thousands of followers.

Vadim Lavrusik (Facebook’s journalism program manager) also said in an official blog post that:
“Once you opt-in, you will be able to opt-out but all Pages will have the feature enabled on July 10, 2013. Also, the feature will be automatically turned on for profiles with more than 10,000 followers. At launch, this feature will only be available on desktop and we plan to make it available in the Graph API and mobile in the future.”
