Facebook 3D Photos Now Available on Android

Remember when you first saw a 3D photo on Facebook and wondered how the author did it? And the moment you found out it was available only on iOS? Those times are gone, as Facebook has announced they introduce the Facebook 3D photos to Android devices as well. Oh, happy times!

Last Autumn, Facebook was launching the 3D photos for selected iOS devices that had dual cameras. The trend was well perceived by the users and more and more we’re asking for it.

Ever since then, Facebook has made it easier for its users to share their 3D photos in different ways.

Facebook 3D photos in Stories

One of those is through Stories. And in order to do this, you just have to take a 3D photo, upload it in the newsfeed and choose where to appear: on the newsfeed or in Stories and wait for your friends and followers to see it. The photo will act like a normal Story and disappear after 24 hours.

Facebook 3D photos on Web

From now on you don’t have to use third-party apps to share a 3D photo on the web even though you don’t have an iOS device: just take 2 photos, one in-depth map, and an image. Drag them both in the photos section on the Newsfeed and Facebook will interpret them as one and combine them into a 3D photo.

Facebook 3D photos on more devices

Even though the 3D photos were available for some time now on Samsung devices with dual cameras, starting recently, the number of both Android and iOS devices on which the 3D photos are available has grown.

So if you possess one of the following devices, you can happily share Facebook 3D photos from now on:

1. Android:
– Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Note 9, Samsung S9+, all of the Samsung S10 models, Samsung Galaxy Fold
– Google Pixel, Google Pixel XL, Google Pixel 2, Google Pixel 2 XL, Google Pixel 3, Google Pixel 3 XL

2. iOS:
iPhone 7+, 8+, X, XS, XS Max.

Don’t forget to share this great news about Facebook 3D photos now available on Android devices with your friends that have an Android smartphone… right away!
